The Development Direction of DC/DC |
As we all know, traditional DC/DC model is to adopt the separate component witch takes the fancy of circuit designers deeply. However, for fear of “ Hot Efficiency ”, “ Integral Efficiency ”, and relation between “ Quantity and Cost of Component ” that the designer must be able to logically apply and completely control, the result usually consumes more time in the DC/DC power change model. In other words, besides needing many spare parts, mixing the designer to circuit design, simulation, overall arrangement, debug, and professional knowledge else, can make the skill come from practice, and fast solution!
Fortunately, merger type DC/DC of new generation only needs to combine DC/DC controller, power MOSFET, inductance, electric capacity of bypass in one chip; plus, one more external resistance, then can save 40% ~ 50% of occupied area of circuit board if compare with separate type. Clearly estimate in advance, the occupation rate of market in the following several years may exceed 10 billion dollars. Certainly, the application market off initial stage will focus on tester, RAID system, medical diagnosis system , and network router , server of edge of a knife and base of cell-phone.
For meeting the market demand, MDT has also developed a series of DC/DC products that separately provide three kinds of differently raised-pressure functions on Voltage. The application fields are on Cellular phones, pagers, MCU, Power failure detection, Portable/Battery-Powered Equipment, Palmtops, RF Keyboard/Mouse.

Growing up smoothly and stably – the Semiconductor Designing Industry of Korea |
Everybody knows " Samsung " and “Hynix” are two biggest memory factories in electronic designing industry in Korea. In not only intellectual property right (IP) but also making manufacturing produce technology field is best. However, in recent years, besides memory industry, Korean Government also focuses on other chip designs and developments. Indeed, In Korea, the emerging design company newly, designing field besides concentrating on the cell-phone and digit TV mainly, also focusing on the display and driving IC. For example, it is like this kind of new technology of OLED.
Because of some smaller companies are no huge investment to support , and realize that if follows the step of the big company, develop with the consuming electron , towards bee's nest type technology , digit TV , enterprises will be unable to continue survival and development forever ; So, they have already transferred the chip development field to family's network , telecommunication technology , and chip development of the robot field.
As for foundry respect, Samsung and Hynix foundries are reserved fully to produce products by customers. Under not enough supportable foundry, the chip design company in Korea began to turn to China Mainland and Taiwan to attempt to seek new foundry to make a great cooperation ship as well.
However, even if there is one official organization in Korea is devoted to promote the development of chip design industry called IT-SoC has acknowledged that the professional ability of design company in Taiwan is far on good terser than that in Korea; but, so far Korean government not only has already opened the semiconductor gate wide to the world after all, but also started to recognize the potentiality of SoC. They are doing their best to support these new developing design fields with all strength, Taiwan can not adopt a casual attitude definitely to fight this war with them.
